  • How can I register my child?


    By getting in touch with us through our email address, or by clicking on the registration link.


  • Why is Online schooling better?


    Online schooling has many advantages. It allows students from different parts of the world to connect and learn about each other. Students are able to learn from wherever they want, and even while traveling. Some advantages include learning from the comfort of your home, learning in a safe environment, not having to follow a school uniform ,and improving in digital skills. Recent studies show that students in online learning conditions perform better than those receiving face-to-face instruction.


  • What will my child’s school schedule look like?


    Students attend four classes a day ranging from Math, English, Science, Geography, and History as well as additional subjects such as Arabic when selected upon registration. Students start classes at 09:00 am and end at 13:45 pm with 15-minute breaks in between each lesson.


  • Are the lessons recorded?


    Yes, all lessons are recorded for students who want to review their lessons or revise for exams.


  • How can I be informed about my child’s progress?


    Report cards will be sent every term informing you about your child’s grades and performance in class.


  • What equipment does my child need to join a class?


    Your child will need the following:


    - a computer

    - Headphones

    - Strong Wi-Fi connection

    - Coursebooks (the list will be provided upon registration)

    - A notebook is also required as we believe writing is an important component for learning.


  • Does my child have to turn on his/her camera?


    Yes, this is required to ensure the safety and well being of other peers. This also enhances learning and promotes focus and interaction.


  • Will I have to purchase books and other materials?


    Yes, a list of the coursebooks will be provided upon registration.


  • Will my child have to sit through an entrance exam?


    Yes, this is to better understand your child’s level.

  • Is AMIA accredited?


    Although the government has acknowledged the increasing popularity of online education services for children in England, many online schools including ours are not accredited yet.


    Active Mindset International Academy adheres to the Cambridge Curriculum.


  • How will my child be assessed?


    Active Mindset International Academy aims to provide a variety of assessment methods to evaluate students' understanding of the material and their progress throughout the course. Your child will be assessed through exams every term as well as online quizzes, tests including a combination of multiple-choice, short answer, and essay questions. 


    Assignments and projects such as essays, research papers, presentations, discussions and participations, and group projects are also assigned by teachers.


  • Will my child have to follow a certain dress code?


    We do not impose a uniform on our students, however, all students at Active Mindset International Academy must wear appropriate clothing.


  • What qualifications will my child receive at the end of their course?


    Students in KS2 and KS3 will be provided with an end-of-course report based on their performance as well as a certificate from AMIA. 

  • Can my child study from outside the UK?


    Of course! All students from around the world with different faiths and backgrounds are welcome to join.

  • What’s the difference between IGCSE and GCSE?


    Both IGCSE and GCSE are academically equivalent and accepted by most universities. The key difference is that GCSE is tailored for students in the UK, while the IGCSE is structured for learners around the world. This can influence content for example, Shakespeare is mandatory in GCSE English Literature but optional in IGCSE.

  • Is the IGCSE more challenging than the GCSE?


    The IGCSE was once considered tougher because it focused solely on final exams, unlike the older GCSE model which included coursework. However, since 2017, the GCSE has also moved toward exam-only assessment, making both qualifications comparably rigorous.

  • Do universities accept the IGCSE?


    Yes, leading universities globally recognise and accept IGCSE results during the admissions process.

  • Do universities prefer GCSE or IGCSE?


    Universities value both qualifications equally. Top institutions, including those in the UK’s

    Russell Group (like Oxford and Cambridge), do not favour one over the other.

  • How many IGCSE subjects do I need to take?


    Students typically take five or six IGCSE subjects, with English, Mathematics, and Science being compulsory.

  • What does IGCSE stand for?


    The International General Certificate of Secondary Education is an exam-based programme for students aged 14–16, providing a strong academic foundation for further study.


  • How is the IGCSE different from India’s ICSE?


    While the ICSE is based on India’s national curriculum, the IGCSE follows an international standard. The IGCSE is more suitable for students aiming to study abroad, while the ICSE serves well within the Indian education system.

    Yes, IGCSE is an excellent foundation for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma


    Programme, and many students transition between the two smoothly.

  • What subjects are offered in IGCSE?


    IGCSE subjects fall into six broad categories: Languages, English, Mathematics, Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Creative & Professional subjects.

  • How does IGCSE compare to A-Levels?


    IGCSE is usually taken before A-Levels. It’s similar in level to the GCSE and prepares students for more advanced study such as A-Levels or equivalent qualifications.
